In this solo episode of Caitlin's Couch, I share the myth that most of us believe that feelings aren’t important.

Have you ever found yourself saying phrases like “there’s no point in being angry or sad about xyz”? I’m here to tell you that feelings don’t work like that. There are many important reasons that we need to feel our feelings in order to live a truly fulfilling life.

There is a reason why a baby cries when they’re hungry, or throws a tantrum when they’re unhappy. It’s how a baby shows their feelings and as we grow up, we are generally taught to suppress our feelings. We are not taught how to regulate our emotions. We are not taught that our emotions are our guide.

This episode comes with some powerful journaling prompts.

Keep the conversation going on Caitlin's Couch! The membership program opens its doors on September 1st, which means we are just a week away from the beginning! If you haven't purchased your membership yet, head to www.caitlinscouch.com right now to get the best deals. Once the program begins, the lifetime membership will no longer be available.

IN THIS EPISODE, YOU WILL HEAR ABOUT

  • Feeling our feelings
  • Why we need to start feeling them
  • How we learned to stop feeling them
  • The road back to trusting ourselves

SOCIAL MEDIA + QUOTES

  • “We weren’t able to feel our feelings in a way that felt safe and doable.”
  • “It’s sort of an all or nothing thing. We are either able to feel, or we aren’t. We don’t get to pick and choose which feelings we want to feel.”
  • “If we don’t know what we feel, we won’t know what we need.”
  • “Your feelings are your guides.”
  • “When I started trusting my feelings, I started trusting myself.”
